A traditional Guernsey Cottage in very poor condition has been transformed into a contemporary home by inserting a new structure within the existing walls (as part of a Planning restriction) which then bursts out at the rear into a dynamic rear kitchen extension that forms a sunny courtyard, as well as addressing the garden beyond. Due to height and space restrictions, this project was a challenging exercise in tight planning, maximising the use of all the available space whilst preserving light and openness.
